This tutorial was written using PSP10, but can be done in other versions.

Paint Shop Pro, a 30 day trial can be downloaded here.
Animation Shop here.
Xenofex 2/Constellation here.

My tube "constellationheartsarrow_gh" and Mask 019 here.
Fonts needed
"KR Valentines 2006 2" by Kat of "Kat's Fun Fonts" here.
Bambino font here.
I used the WingDings font to do the circles around the heart but any font should do.
Install Xenofex 2 to your plugins folder.
Open the "constellationheartarrow_gh" tube in PSP.
Put Mask 019 in your PSP mask folder.
Have the fonts opened and minimized on your desktop.


You can drag this pointer as you go to keep track of your place in the tutorial.

Let's get started ...

Open a new image 500 X 500 with a white background.
Layers/New Raster Layer and flood fill with #a71b1c.
Layers/Load/Save Mask/Load Mask From Disk and find Mask 019 in the preview window. Use these settings ...



In your layer palette right click on the "Group - Raster 1" layer and go to Merge/Merge Group. Lower the opacity of this layer to 55.



Click on the text tool and use these settings ....



In your material palette make your foreground color white and your background color #a71b1c. Change the background to Gradient.
Settings are #1 Foreground-Background, Linear, Angle 0, Repeats 0, Invert unchecked.
Click on your canvas and type an upper case A. Go to Objects/Align/Center in Canvas.


Layers/Duplicate. In your Layer palette right click on the Vector 1 layer and convert to a raster layer.
Click on Copy of Vector 1 layer and click on the plus sign to expand it.

Now right click on the sub layer named "A" and choose Properties.
In the Vector Properties window uncheck the fill color box and click ok. Now you should have a white heart outline.
Click on your Object Selection tool and make sure the heart outline is selected.
Right click on your canvas and select "Convert Text to Curves"/"As Single Shape".
**If your Object Selector tool is not listed in your toolbar go to View/Customize then on the Commands tab look in the Categories
column and highlight All Commands. Look in the Commands window for the Object Selections tool and drag it to your toolbar. **




Click on your text tool and use these settings .....



Make your foreground white and turn your background color off.

Hold your mouse over the white outline of the heart until you see this icon
That will make the text follow the vector line of the heart shape.
Type a lower case m. It will take about 90 of them before they meet.
*If you are using another font use the lower case o and adjust the size and number.*

Open the "constellationheartarrow_gh" tube. Edit/Copy. Go back to your image and Edit Paste as a New Layer.
Layers/Duplicate twice. Rename them arrow 1, arrow 2 and arrow 3.
In the layer palette activate arrow 1 and turn off arrow 2 and arrow 3.
Effects/Plugins/ Xenofex 2/Constellation and use these settings ...



Effects/3D Effects/ Drop Shadow with these settings ...
Horizontal and Vertical 1, Opacity 20, Blur 2 and color black.

Turn off arrow 1 layer and turn on and activate arrow 2.
Repeat the constellation filter again but click on the Random Seed button once.
Effects/3D Effects/ Drop Shadow with these settings ...
Horizontal and Vertical 1, Opacity 20, Blur 2 and color black.

Turn off arrow 2 layer and turn on and activate arrow 3.
Repeat the constellation filter again but click on the Random Seed button once.
Effects/3D Effects/ Drop Shadow with these settings ...
Horizontal and Vertical 1, Opacity 20, Blur 2 and color black.

When I got to this part I decided we needed more sparkle, why not? lol! So lets go back to the heart layer and do some more.
In the layer palette activate the Raster 1 layer. Go to Layers/Duplicate and repeat the step so you have 3 heart layers. Rename them
heart 1, heart 2 and heart 3. Activate heart 1 and turn off heart 2 and 3. Using your Magic Wand with these settings ...



Select the white outline of the heart. I clicked at the very bottom to make the selection.


Effects/Plugins/Xenofex 2/Constellation.
All the settings are the same except change the Star Size to 6.

Turn off heart 1 layer and turn on and activate heart 2.
Repeat the constellation filter clicking on the Random Seed button.

Turn off heart 2 layer and turn on and activate heart 3.
Repeat the constellation filter clicking on the Random Seed button.

Selections/Select None. Click on the top layer of the layer palette.

To add your name click on the text tool and use these settings ....



Your foreground color should still be white and the background color the gradient. Click on your image and type your name.
Effects/3D Effects/ Drop Shadow with these settings ...
Horizontal and Vertical 2, Opacity 30, Blur 2 and color black.
Add a raster layer and watermark your tag now.

Okay, let's animate this thing!
In your layer palette make sure heart 1 and arrow 1 are turned on. Turn off heart 2, heart 3, arrow 2 and arrow 3.
Edit/Copy Merged. Open Animation Shop. Right click in the workspace and Paste as New Animation.
Go back to PSP.
Turn off heart 1 and arrow 1 and turn on heart 2 and arrow 2.
Edit/Copy Merged. Go to Animation Shop. Right click on frame 1 and Paste after Current Frame.

Turn off heart 2 and arrow 2 and turn on heart 3 and arrow 3.
Edit/Copy Merged. Go to Animation Shop. Right click on frame 2 and Paste after Current Frame.
Click on the View Animation button to see the effect. The frame speed will be set at the default 10.
Go to "Save As" and give your tag a name.
Click OK to the next 3 screens ....







Then on Finish on the 4th screen.



That's it, your tag is finished!
